I'm Katya Halligan — licensed marriage and family therapist, trained sex therapist, and founder of Attune Therapy Group. My practice centers on couples who are disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns they can't seem to break on their own.
Most people I see have already tried to fix things before coming in. The books. The podcasts. Some have even been to therapy before and left still feeling unheard — like they talked in circles without anything actually shifting.
Fertility journeys, pregnancy, perinatal loss, early parenthood — these are the moments that reshape a relationship in ways few people prepare for. Supporting couples through them is a core part of this work.
From the Greater Seattle area and Eastside communities like Bellevue and Kirkland to everywhere in between — sessions are available entirely via telehealth throughout Washington State, with in-person sessions at my Whidbey Island office.
"It's not a question of whether your relationship will face trials. It's whether you'll have the right support when it does."
IF YOU'RE SKEPTICALWhat if we’ve already tried therapy and it didn’t work?
Many of the couples I work with come in having already been to therapy. They left feeling unheard, or like they spent sessions talking about the same things without anything changing. That experience is real — and it's also not the whole story of what therapy can be. The difference is usually in the approach: whether your therapist is tracking the patterns beneath the conflict, not just mediating it. That's where this work begins.

No commute. No babysitter. No barriers.
Between work, kids, and everything else — scheduling therapy can feel like one more thing you don't have bandwidth for. Telehealth sessions happen from wherever feels right: your couch, your bedroom, your car during lunch. Easy to start. Possible to sustain. In-person intensive sessions also available on Whidbey Island.
WHAT BECOMES POSSIBLENot distant aspirations. What honest work in therapy actually produces.
These are the things couples come in wanting — and what they leave with when the work goes deep enough.
→ Shave months — or even years — off the struggle, isolation, and anguish you're carrying right now
→ Rebuild the emotional safety that makes real intimacy possible again
→ Create or rekindle sexual connection — in whatever form works for both of you
→ Feel like you are finally in a true, mutual partnership — not just co-managing a life
→ Have honest, direct conversations about hard topics and actually solve problems instead of circling
→ Regulate your nervous system so stress stops hijacking your connection
→ Feel seen — by your partner, and by yourself
→ Imagine laughing with your partner again. That's not a fantasy — it's what this work makes possible

TESTIMONIALS“We tried couples therapy before, but never really addressed our sex life. We were stuck and didn’t know how to talk about it without fighting or hurting one another. Katya’s approach as a sex therapist was different. She helped us have honest conversations we had been avoiding for years.”
— Married Couple, Woodenville
“We were tired of having the same arguments over and over. Couples therapy with Katya helped us understand the pattern underneath our arguments and learn how to interrupt it. We still disagree, but we don't hurt each other in the process as much anymore.”
— Committed Couple, Tacoma
“We were disagreeing about how to parent, and every decision turned into an argument. Through exploring our values, Katya helped us understand what was underneath those differences and learn how to approach parenting as a team instead of opponents.”
— Married Couple with Children, Vancouver
